The Insta360 Ace Pro Action Cam could be the go-to for killer low-light videos

Check this out – Insta360, the folks known for their 360-degree cameras and cool AI features, are shaking things up with their new action cameras, the Insta360 Ace series. No cookie-cutter stuff here!

They’ve got two models – the Ace Pro at $450 and the more budget-friendly Ace at $380. What sets them apart? Well, the Ace Pro rocks a bigger 1/1.3-inch image sensor, while the Ace has a slightly smaller 1/2-inch one. Plus, the Ace Pro’s lens is co-engineered with Leica for some serious image quality, and it can charge up in a speedy 46 minutes with a 30-watt charger, compared to the Ace’s 70 minutes.

Now, the Ace Pro’s image sensor is on par with DJI’s Osmo Action 4 and even bigger than GoPro’s Hero 12 Black. A bigger sensor generally means better image quality. And get this – while the DJI and GoPro top out at 4K and 5.3K, the Ace Pro goes all the way to 8K (that’s 7,680×3,272 pixels) at 24 frames per second. Talk about pushing the limits!

But it’s not just about high-res video. The Ace Pro’s Clarity Zoom lets you digitally zoom in with just a double-tap on the touchscreen. You can grab high-resolution stills from your videos, shoot 48-megapixel photos in JPEG or DNG raw – the whole shebang.

Now, the real game-changer here is the PureVideo mode. Thanks to a snazzy 5-nanometer AI chip, the Ace Pro can capture cleaner, clearer low-light video with better brightness and dynamic range. No more struggling in dim scenes like some other action cams. And bonus – it handles digital image stabilization like a champ. Insta360 is definitely onto something with these Ace cameras!
